Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Dear Parent/Guardian,

In an effort to keep all of our children, parents, and staff safe during arrival and dismissal, we are asking everyone to follow these procedures and precautions when dropping off or picking up students at school.

Student Arrival:

If you are dropping off your child:

  • Drive SLOWLY through the lower parking lot when dropping off your child.

  • Enter the lower parking lot, following the line of cars around the perimeter of the lot.

  • Prepare your child in advance to exit your car, so that they can safely and quickly move from your car into the building.

  • Wait until you enter the designated drop-off area before allowing your child to exit the car. Never leave your child unattended in the parking lot or sidewalk without a staff member present.

  • Children should not be dropped off prior to 8:03 a.m.

  • Children arriving after 8:15 a.m. must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (to the front door).  Reminder - parents will not be permitted to enter the building.  Please ring the bell for assistance, and the office will need to ensure that the daily checklist has been completed and submitted prior to students entering.

Student Dismissal:

If you are picking up your child:

  • Parking for pick-up will be in the lower parking lot. Only buses are permitted in the bus lane closest to the building. All other traffic MUST go through the lower parking lot. (If you need to access the Handicap parking area please click here for further instructions)

  • Use the stairs to access the crosswalk being mindful of vans and buses.

  • Students will be signed out via the exit door of the small gym, which is located in the rear of the building.  Parents will not be permitted access to the building.  A staff member will be present at the gym door to facilitate the sign out process for students, one at a time.  Parents are expected to follow all safety guidelines during pick-up.  In an effort to ease the flow of congestion, student pick-up will begin at 2:40 p.m.

  • Students will be dismissed only to authorized adults. Parents can add individuals authorized to pick up into the student’s Genesis account.

  • School buses will have the right-of-way when departing. Cars should not interfere with their egress.

  • Be sure to send in a note or call the main office no later than 2:00 p.m., and speak to office personnel if you will be picking your child up from school. Do not leave this information in our voice message system.

  • Students may only ride the bus to which they are assigned.

Thank you for your cooperation.
