We are shining bright here at SB for our second day of the Week of Respect! Our students looked awesome as some classrooms began participating in this week’s antibullying lessons. They will continue to learn all month about the character trait of respect - which we define as seeing value in all people and things & treating them with care. Tomorrow, our students will be comfy in their sweatpants and sweatshirts - because being respectful is no sweat! #sbrt🐬
Today, we kicked off the Week of Respect in New Jersey with a spirit day to show we are all on the same team here at SB when it comes to making everyone feel included & cared for! Throughout this week, students will be learning in their classrooms about what it means to be an upstander and how they can use that super power here at school and in the community. Tomorrow, don’t forget to wear your brightest or shiniest outfit - because we are shining bright with respect at Stony Brook! 🐬❤️

Stony Brook students met author & illustrator, Jay Cooper, today! Jay Cooper, who was once a reluctant reader himself, went on to write and illustrate nearly 30 books. His presentation showcased that success comes from practice and hard work. Jay Cooper’s books will be available at Family Night on April 23rd. #sbrt🐬
The 4th & 5th grade entrepreneurs showed off their businesses last night at Stony Brook’s 4th TREP$ Market Place! It was SB’s biggest to date with 43 different businesses! The students practiced their sales and money management. Some students practiced their philanthropy and are donating a portion of their profits to local charities. Thank you to all the parents, teachers, and neighbors who came out to support these young TREP$.💰#sbrt🐬
